For alm
ost 40 years, Anchor Inc. has helped vulnerable people in Melbourne’s outer eastern communities. They provide valuable services to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, children and young people who require foster care or kinship care, and youth and families who require mediation, counselling or ongoing support. They engage with the wider community through education, advocacy, early intervention and community initiatives.
They are currently working on an exciting, and much-needed, social housing project in Mt Evelyn and are hoping for assistance with the project.
Anchor, in partnership with prominent local organisations, has begun the building and development of a housing and support model aimed at addressing the increasing issues of homelessness in the over 55 age group. They have consulted extensively, have plans and approvals completed and are almost ready to turn the soil.
But, they need your help to turn this dream into a reality!
Are you in a position to offer any materials or services that could help with the construction? They are open to any new ideas!
They are looking to community members and organisations who really want to make a difference to assist with donations of materials or skills in fencing, roofing, landscaping and general building and garden supplies such as:

Large and small offerings are most welcome! Please let them know how you think you can help. In return, you will know that you have made a difference to your community and Anchor will acknowledge your kindness through multiple channels.
The building tender process will commence in July and Anchor is hoping to have community feedback well before this time.
They would love to hear from you, sooner rather than later!
