New ATM in Montrose

In 2013 the Montrose Recreation Reserve Management Committee formed a partnership with Montrose Community Bank® Branch, Yarra Ranges Council and Melba Support Services to install new pieces of ‘All Abilities’ equipment into the playground.  This equipment included a large spinning climbing net, sensory items, additional seating, trees and a new addition to the Montrose Play Village with the Montrose Community Bank® play ATM.

This project began with the support of Ken Dowling and the Montrose Recreation Reserve Management Committee, who secured the initial funding from Melba Support Services. From there the partnership grew with Montrose Community Bank® supporting the project by way of a Community Grant and additional funding coming from Yarra Ranges Council.

The play ATM was painted by local artists, who were also involved in painting the existing pieces in the playground. These dedicated artists generously volunteered their time.

“We saw the playground upgrade as a great opportunity to support this unique community built initiative that has become a Montrose icon and much sought out family destination.”  Chair Jill Rule.
