Did you know financial abuse is a type of family violence? It often happens alongside other types of violence, such as physical or emotional abuse. It can leave people feeling vulnerable, isolated, depressed and anxious. Financial abuse can happen to anyone. The abuser could be your partner, or a family member, carer or friend.In November last year, the Women Supporting Women in the Yarra Ranges program delivered financial literacy workshops to women recovering from family violence and hardship. Sue West from Money Natters, delivered two workshops on being financially independent and planning for retirement.
